The Season of Giving: ESWES!

Giving seems to have gone viral.

After super typhoon Yolanda, every person I know—neighbor, friend, relative, acquaintance, and peer—has helped the typhoon victims in various ways.

Christmas parties are being cancelled or pared down; funds are instead funneled to  organizations poised to help rehabilitate the ravaged places.

The only parties that cannot be called off are weddings. At one such occasion, I met an old friend who said her group bought copies of my book, The Magic of Apo Mayor to give away to children in Leyte.

"We want to remind kids, and the adults who will read this book with them, that despite the tragedy, God sees their heart."

Indeed, in Proverbs 15:11 (NLT), we read, “Even Death and Destruction hold no secrets from the Lord. How much more does he know the human heart!”

It is so easy to forget that God sees everything—watching and listening to us, remembering everything we do. The Magic of Apo Mayor tells the story of a kindhearted old mayor in white who seems to be everywhere, saying "ESWES! (derived from Eso es, Spanish for well done) to everyone who does good.

To what extent does God know our heart? The Bible teaches us that God became man 2,000 years ago because he knows our heart so well. He came down from Heaven to take our sins away so that by accepting him as our Savior, we may live.

"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God . . ." Hebrews 4:13

I pray that the giving of our life to Jesus becomes viral too, just as the giving to others has. Then we'd hear Him say, "ESWES!"

JB, all my OMFLit e-books (including those that are already out of print like 'What's for Breakfast?') are on flipreads. There are many more Pinoy books there, too.

Hello Vie! There are just too many words these days that can cram even a wordless Wednesday! Hahaha! Have a great day!
